SMILE CORRECTION !

This patient is from my neighboring country Pakistan. It is a blessing to practice like UAE since dental services can be provided to people from different parts of world.

This young Lady has got tooth colored restorations, fixed ceramic crowns (coverings) on various teeth as you see in the photo (photo:1).

but she was not happy with the previous treatments and came to my clinic in Rolla –Sharjah asking what treatment I can offer to improve her smile.

I hope you can appreciate the improvement.
(Right sides of patient old ceramic crowns are there to be replaced which she is planning to do once when she return from Pakistan after school – summer –vacation).

Usually I take approval from patents and their family / friends etc. Regarding color shape and size of teeth and the appearance too.

But this lady knows me through her daughter’s fractured upper front tooth correction, so she did not even shown interest to look into mirror for making suggestions during treatment procedures. Neither her family nor her friends too make any suggestions during treatment .

so I had to take extra care since all the responsibility was on my head.

BROKEN FRONT TOOTH !

I had wake up call early in the morning –

" sorry doctor, I need an emergency appointment…."

In brief she fell down in the bathroom and broken front tooth

I Didn’t want to remove the fractured tooth and fix an artificial one,

even though fracture was at cervical level (very near to gum) i explained the treatment scenarios -at this point she was little relieved when she learned my idea is to save the tooth by conserving remaining rootstructure and not to remove it.

I had an official visit to one of the prestigious school - Sharjah, UAE.

I was wondering to see unfortunate dental decay on permanent first molars of more than 60 % of kids (same like a rural village) ,I am sure this post may be helpful to you or to your friends.

-most of the time parents think permanent first molars are milk teeth and not giving attention.

(worldwide that is the most decayed extracted... or root canal treated tooth because of the same reason.)
It’s simple to find out if any decay on your kids teeth-especially on first molars.

u don’t need to go to a dentist for checking this.

1. this permanent tooth erupt at the age of six( before falling/shedding any of milk tooth)
2. its erupting after all 10 teeth on upper jaw and 10 teeth on lower jaw erupt.
3. if its gone no new teeth will come in its place.
4.see any unusual stain brown/black or chalky white on PITS of this tooth that may be a decay/cavity. at first stage treatments -are very simple.
if no cavities -u r lucky but as a prevention brushing at night is as/more important than morning.
